Full Moon Ritual for supported release of emotional skeletons.
I had a very difficult time writing this ritual. I am deeply tired. Physical and emotional stress are limiting my productivity. I have a constant unsettling feeling that I am missing something. Something big. Missing the whole point or a clue to unlocking a level of what my entire existence is about. I feel a constant pull downward, toward the center of the Earth, toward the Underworld. I am eyeing pomegranates suspiciously at the grocery store. This is Full Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is the water sign that dares to go into the deepest and darkest corners of the emotional realm. When the Moon is Full in Scorpio, it shines a bright psychic light into those corners, revealing emotional truths we are ready to accept and integrate and allowing us to release attachments that are no longer serving us.
On this Full Moon in Scorpio, we work to draw down Divine light to assist us in identifying the skeletons deep in our emotional closets that have been clamoring to get out and to provide us support as we set them free.
You will need:
- 1 white 7-day ritual candle in glass container
- 1 piece of Amethyst
- 1 printed image of the Death card XIII
- Pen or pencil
- Sea salt (optional)
- Frankincense oil (optional)
STEP ONE: Cleanse your space, holding the intention that you are preparing it for a sacred operation and that only those beings working for the highest good of all are invited
STEP TWO: Gather your supplies and settle in to your cleansed space
STEP THREE: (optional) Put one drop of Frankincense oil in the top of the candle and trace it with your finger 3 times clockwise around. Frankincense has been used for thousands of years to open and purify sacred space and in rituals denoting a passage from one realm of life to another. We use it here to create an energetic doorway to pass through.
STEP FOUR: (optional) Sprinkle a small amount of sea salt in the top of the candle. Sea salt is purifying. We use it here to keep our work and ourselves pure in intent and practice.
STEP FIVE: Close your eyes and focus on your breath. When your mind is calm, invite a non-judgmental discourse on what you need to let go of into your being. For many, this will have become very clear based on information that has come up in the past few days leading up to this moon. This may be a habit, a person, or a mental framework. It may be judgment of a certain aspect of yourself or your past. Don't over think it. Whatever has been preoccupying your mid should guide you. On the back of the printed Death card, write out what you are releasing (or possibly what you are finally accepting) using the present tense.
The Death card teaches us to embrace the totality of the cycle of life. Without death, there can be no life. Without release, there can be no transformation. Without true acceptance, there can be no joy.
STEP SIX: Place the candle and the Amethyst on top of the Justice image (image side up).
Amethyst holds the energy of spiritual protection and activation. It helps us connect to the Divine and keeps us safe in our quest. It can also be a powerful ally in breaking unhealthy habits.
We use a white candle to flood our work with Divine and Lunar illumination.
STEP SEVEN: Light the candle and spend a few minutes in quiet meditation reflecting on your process, your goals, and your connection to the Moon, the Universe, and all your fellow beings here on this planet.
Let your candle burn until it goes out on its own in a fire-safe place. While it is burning, be sure to stay aware of any signs, symbols, or messages that come through. These can be from loved ones, strangers, dreams, signs on the street - anywhere.
This a heavy one. Be kind and patient with yourself. Go where you are ready. Know you are loved.
